GALLAUDET STATUE

SUBJECT:     Edward Miner Gallaudet  - First President of Gallaudet University

MEDIUM:      Cast Bronze 

LOCATION:  Gallaudet University

                        Washington, DC

YEAR DED.:    April 11, 1969

TREATMENT:  The statue re-patinized, using a walnut blasting process to remove corrosion and uneven patina finish.   We researched, discovered  and and extensively tested a newer more gentle process using the Armex System utilizing bicarbonate of soda, and water at a low 70 PSI.  After the repatination process the the statue was sprayed with several coasts of lacquer. 

NOTES:  In the center of the mall, this statue was erected in honor of Gallaudet's first president. Sculpted by Signor Pietro Lazzari, father of alumna Nina Lazzari, 67, the statue was a gift from the Gallaudet College Alumni Association (now the Gallaudet University Alumni Association). Lazzari said at the dedication,
