These bronze satyrs serve as the base and platform for the marble disc that supports the bronze sundial. These statues are unsigned and likely replicas Trois satyres” by Pierre Legros (1629–1714). We searched for any artist stamp or foundry marker , neither was located. The bronze elements were devoid of any protective coating and no evidence of treatment was observed. There was uneven oxidation and corrosion products were more pronounced on the lower extremities of the Satyrs. Despite the cover of the marble disc- the heads and faces of each Satyr was marked with streaking and corrosion. The statues were washed using non-ionic detergent.  Surface corrosion was minimized using Biox and soft brass brushes.  Two applications of conservator’s hot wax treatment were administered, cooled and buffed.
